Our world is constantly evolving in terms of technology. Today, we have connected home appliances, autonomous vehicles and machinery, smart homes and offices, and much more, all thanks to the Internet of Things.

Over the past few years, the Industry 4.0, powered by the Internet of Things, has created a strong foothold in the world of technology. It has become a source that powers all the next-gen smart application and devices. If you are unaware, different companies have introduced products empowered by the Internet of Things.

The IoT enabled devices use sensors to transmit data and connect to a common platform, enabling the user to control everything from their smartphone. For Instance, we security solutions to notify us about any suspicious activity via message or phone call, smart thermostats to auto-adjust the room temperature, self-driving technology, and much more.

It is just the beginning; connected technology is also making its presence in different industries. Soon machines will be automated, allowing them to perform complex tasks without any human intervention. The smart sensors inside the machine will also aid to predetermine production costs and maintenance.  Simply put, works inside the organizations will be smoother smarter and faster.

Despite the offerings, the Internet of Things is unable to take its real shape. The security barriers are holding back individuals and companies from embracing this technology. As we all know, the Internet of Things is a connected technology. Meaning, everything will be connected to the internet. This, in turn, opens new gates of possibilities to hackers and cybercriminals. In the recent years, hackers have altered a plethora of IoT devices, preventing many from initiating towards this technology. One of the recent incidents is the Mirai Botnet Attack. The attack affected DNS server and disabled giant websites such as Amazon, Twitter, and Google itself.

Manufacturing companies are developing stout solutions to tackle this obstacle. Many companies have come up with robust ideas to secure their IoT devices. But only a handful of ideas are implanted, which has created a sense of doubt for consumers.

However, if the security protocols are met IoT will be the next big thing in the world of Technology. As predicted by the experts, the IoT technology will take its real shape within 2022. For now, all we can do is wait and see what this innovative technology has to offer.
